Do you know what the S-OtrH3N2 viruses is? You are probably going to learn more about this new flu strain as it has been confirmed by the CDC as a new Swine Flu strain. This new flu strain is a combination of a very rare North American pig virus (H3N2) and the nortorous 2009 swine flu H1N1 virus. This new strain has come onto the radar of U.S. health officials because 3 Iowian children were infected this month by the S-OtrH3N2 viruse.

The bottom line is if your child comes down with flu symtoms get them to the doctor immediately. Let your doctor decided what further steps should be taken. The doctor in the above article felt that if Tamiflu could have been given immediately to these children that died, possibly their lives could have been saved.

It has been reported in Cambodia that some people have fallen victim to the normal seasonal flu and at the same time the much more deadly swine flu. This rare occurrence of the double-flu may create a risk of a super-flu virus mutation. As you can seen there is a lot of hype in these stories.  The cases now being reported in Cambodia date back to 2009 during the swine flu outbreak.  However health experts and directors of disease control are extremely concerned with this type of dual infection because of a possible genetic mutation and the global health implications.

It has been reported that Nicaragua has seen a small flare-up of the swine flu over the week of Oct 13, 2011. At least 32 people were infected per the report .
